Asim Hussain is an equity analyst at Mawer Investment Management Ltd., which he joined in 2022. Previously in Seoul, he was the Japan analyst in the Global Equities Team at KB Securities, a division of Korea’s largest financial group. Before that in Tokyo, he was an Asia portfolio manager in the Global Equities Team at Nomura Asset Management, a division of Japan’s largest securities firm.

During his investment career, Mr. Hussain also gained experience in business development at Nomura Asset Management and GCI Asset Management in Japan. Separately, he advised healthcare start-ups, Biofont and Healthstore, on strategy in Canada. He speaks fluent Japanese.

Mr. Hussain earned his Master of Science in China in Comparative Perspective from the London School of Economics. He also received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Science minoring in Biology at the University of Waterloo.

Mr. Hussain is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
