Mark Rutherford is the co-manager of the Mawer Canadian Equity Strategy at Mawer Investment Management Ltd., which he joined in 2018. From 2011 to 2017 he worked as an investment specialist at BMGI, the private investment office of Bill and Melinda Gates and their charitable foundation. After spending a year on BMGI’s trading desk, Mark focused on private assets, evaluating and executing direct investments in a variety of industries.            

Mark received his Bachelor of Science, majoring in finance and economics, from Marquette University in 2011. While at Marquette, he played NCAA Division I tennis and was a member of the Applied Investment Management program.  

Mark is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
