Eric Wetlaufer, BA, CFA, ICD.D

Interim Chief Executive Officer

Eric Wetlaufer is the Interim Chief Executive Officer at Mawer Investment Management. Eric was previously an advisory member of Mawer’s Board of Directors from June 2025 to February 2026.  

Eric is a seasoned investment and governance leader with over 40 years of prominent leadership roles primarily in the public markets sector. Previously he was the Global Head of Public Market Investments at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB). Prior to that, Eric served as Group Chief Investment Officer, International at Fidelity Management & Research, where he oversaw $100 billion in international assets and managed a global team of 100 portfolio managers and analysts. Eric also served as a Chief Investment Officer at Putnam Investments, leading the U.S. Mid Cap and Specialty Growth Equities Groups.  

Eric currently serves on the boards of Investment Management Corporation of Ontario and Enterra Solutions LLC, and previously served on the boards of TMX Group Ltd. and Niyogin Fintech Ltd. for nearly 13 and 5 years, respectively. Eric is a former president of the CFA Society Boston and former board member of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment.  

Eric graduated with a BA from Wesleyan University attained the CFA designation and his ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
